The fax should include relevant clinic notes, diagnostics, pathology reports, prior treatment records, and appropriate contact information. The Clinic Nurse Coordinator will be in contact to schedule an appointment.

Appointments

Cancer treatment usually requires multiple treatments. Attending all appointments is necessary for good results. Please be on time for your appointment.

Patient Registration

Hematology/Oncology patients register for scheduled appointments in the outpatient cancer treatment center located between Shriner's Hospital and the Virginia K. Shehee Biomedical Research Institute.

Adult patients please register at the desk on the first floor at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled appointment.

Pediatric patients register in the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic on the first floor.

Feist-Weiller Cancer Center treats patients from any state, but non-Louisiana residents may be required to pay a $250 deposit. Louisiana Medicaid and Medicaid plans from some other states exempt this deposit

Admission to the Hospital

If admitted to the University Health overnight, visit the Admitting office conveniently located on the first floor of the hospital at the K-Wing entrance. The Admitting staff will collect information for our records. Room assignment will be based on medical needs and bed availability on the day of admission. Financial counseling is available for assistance with insurance and billing questions.

ID Bracelet

An identification bracelet is placed on your arm or leg when admitted to the hospital. The bracelet gives our staff important information that will help them care for you. Please do not remove the bracelet during your stay.

What to Bring With You

All patients please bring:

  • proof of residency
  • drivers license or picture ID
  • medical insurance information
  • co-payment for treatment.
