Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Clinic
A lung cancer diagnosis can be life-changing for any person and their family. Lung cancer treatment is very challenging, and may involve surgery, radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy.
Feist-Weiller Cancer Center is the leading cancer institute in northwest Louisiana, where experienced physicians treat cancer patients using state-of-the-art facilities. Lung cancer patients at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center are treated in the Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Clinic (MLCC). Patients in this clinic are evaluated by Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Pulmonologists and Thoracic Surgeons. Physicians specializing in different aspects of lung cancer management work closely in a team, and are able to offer the most-advanced treatment for lung cancer. Complex conditions are discussed at the weekly Multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Tumor Board. Patients may have an opportunity to participate in lung cancer clinical trials.
Physicians who know or suspect a patient to have lung cancer may easily refer the patient to the Mulitdisciplinary Lung Cancer Clinic (MLCC) at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center. Fax referrals to 318.813.1030. The fax should include relevant clinic notes, diagnostics, pathology reports, prior treatment records and appropriate contact information. The Clinic Nurse Coordinator will be in contact to schedule an appointment. The MLCC advocates excellent communications between all health care providers to ensure quality health care. Follow-up treatment plans are promptly communicated to the patient’s referring physician and/or primary care provider.

Lung Cancer Screening
Unique to the MLCC is lung cancer screening for high-risk patients. MLCC offers state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques to find lung cancer at an early stage and has facilities to provide the latest treatment options for all stages of lung cancer. Patients with a strong smoking history or who are considered to be high-risk may be referred to MLCC for screening and early intervention. Fax referrals to the Clinic Nurse Coordinator 318.813.1030.
Feist-Weiller Cancer Center offers Smoking Cessation services facilitated by the Tobacco Control Initiative, providing evidence-based interventions that are cost-effective, appropriate and acceptable to patients.
